Ambulance employees welcome recruitment boost in Victoria

The Ambulance Employees Australia Victoria (AEAV) welcomes the fast tracking of the recruiting of paramedics across Victoria during the coronavirus crisis.

Ambulance employees are at the frontline of the pandemic and workload is expected to increase with the convergence of COVID-19 and the winter flu season. Resourcing does need to be put in place as soon as possible to ensure readiness for the expected increase in demand.

Quotes attributed to Brett Adie, AEAV Secretary:

“The Ambulance Employees Australia Victoria (AEAV) welcomes the boost to staffing in Ambulance Victoria.

“Paramedics are facing the unprecedented reality of Covid-19 and must be supported – this commitment to resourcing is vitally important.

“We are continuing to work with Ambulance Victoria throughout this crisis to ensure a safe workplace for AV employees and the Victorian public.”

Ambulance Employees Australia Victoria (AEAV) is a section of the United Workers Union, the national ambulance union.
