Another NEPT Member Assaulted

nept-member

Unfortunately another one of our NEPT members was assaulted recently. The crew had attended a low acuity case. The experienced NEPT crew took all proper precautions when an unexpected assault occurred from an elderly patient.

An AV crew were requested for backup and the patient required sedation before being restrained and transported to hospital.

The assaulted member is now recovering.

This is a timely reminder that assaults not only occur on emergency Paramedics. NEPT staff are reporting occupational violence with increased frequency.

It is important that we look after each other. NEPT and AV members work together on a daily basis and we all need treat each other with the utmost respect and support. We are all in this industry together.
