Paramedic Work Value Recommendation

Today, Wednesday, 23 March 2016, the Fair Work Commission issued a Recommendation in relation to the paramedic work value case.

The wage increases for the paramedic and related classifications range from 12% to 28%.  Attached to this Bulletin are the percentage wage increases and the new wage rates.

The wages increases will be phased in with 10% backdated to 01 July 2015, half of the remainder on 01 July 2016 and the final remainder on 01 December 2016.

There is also a further 3% on 01 July 2016 as per the provisions of the 2015 Ambulance Victoria Enterprise Agreement.

The Union and Ambulance Victoria have committed to discussing the next Enterprise Agreement in the coming months with the aim of having that document ready for you to vote on by the end of May 2016.

The Union witnesses have done a brilliant job and ought to be congratulated for their contribution to this historic decision.

Members meetings will be held across the state in the coming weeks to discuss the Recommendation further.

The Union will be seeking wage increases for non-paramedic classifications in the variation to the 2015 Enterprise Agreement. Further information will be provided via a letter to this cohort of members in the coming week.
