Forum with Lisa Chesters

On Tuesday 22nd of August VTHC is hosting a forum with Lisa Chesters (invitation attached).  The forum will bring together women unionists to discuss gender equality and in particular, the experiences of working women.  This is an opportunity to feed into discussions as the Federal ALP develops their policies and priorities going forward.  We are encouraging affiliates to send women union officials and three woman members / activists to participate in the forum.

What: Our Feminist Agenda: Forum with Lisa Chesters
When: 22nd August 2017, 5:30pm – 7pm
Where: Meeting Room 1, VTHC 54 Victoria St, Carlton

Unions will meet one hour before the consultation at 4:30pm (at VTHC) to discuss how we want to approach the consultation.  The forum will be a facilitated discussion framed around the priorities that were identified through the WRAW Chats undertaken with over 800 Victorian working women. We ask that you come to the union caucus thinking about how your member’s issues / experiences can be framed within the four priority areas of Our Feminist Agenda:

1.  Gendered violence
2.  Gender pay inequality
3.  Intersection and transitions between caring and work
4.  Insecure and precarious work

Please RSVP attendance to women@vthc.org.au with the subject line Lisa Chesters Forum 22 August
