RECONCILIATION ACTION PLAN

The AEAV is a part of the United Workers Union, with 150,000 members across the country.

Our union has a long and proud history of working in solidarity with First Nations Communities, and we are coming together to stand for justice and take action for change.

Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members have been meeting regularly and have proposed that we create a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for our Union, and the proposal has been endorsed by the National Executive.

We want to hear directly from you as we shape our vision for reconciliation and start to identify the actions that we will commit to. If you want to take an active role, sign up here.

Developing a Reconciliation Action Plan will enable us to turn our values and good intentions into practical actions that will contribute to reconciliation in our union.

Reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, which will benefit all of us.

You can register to participate here, and dates and times of consultations are listed below.

We have some background resources on this work on the UWU website which you can access here.
